Follow the following steps to setup a Netgear router using the Nighthawk APP-

• Get the Nighthawk app by downloading it.
• Connect the modem to an Internet port on the router, and attach any antennas included with your purchase.
• Turn on your network router.
• wait for the Wi-Fi LED to light up.
• You can find the Wi-Fi network identifier (SSID), the network key for your router, printed on the router’s label (password).
• You can find the label on your router’s bottom or the back.
• Tap the Settings menu followed by the Wi-Fi option on your iOS or Android mobile device.
• You will need to enter the password after connecting the mobile to the network that’s also displayed on the label of your router.
• Open the Netgear Nighthawk application that was downloaded to your mobile device.

• Open an internet browser from a mobile device or computer linked to your router’s network.

• Enter the username and password for the router.
• The default username is admin, and the password. Case sensitivity is applied to the username and password.

• Choose Advance> Security> Access Control from the drop-down menu.
• Check the box to enable access control.
• Before you may specify the Access rule and utilize the Allow and Block boxes, you must first check this box. When this box is deselected, all devices, including those on the blocked list, are permitted to connect.

• Disallow no new devices to connect. With just this setting, a device cannot use your router’s Internet connection, but it can still access the local network. Before a device may access your router’s Internet connection, you should add its MAC address to the approved list for the ethernet connection or its MAC address to the allowed list for a Wi-Fi connection.
• The access rule has no effect on previously prohibited or permitted devices. It only applies to devices that join your network after implementing these changes.
• To view unconnected permitted or blocked devices, select the link
• View the list of allowed devices not currently linked to the network.
• View the list of prohibited, non-connected devices
• The list is shown.
• To enable that computer or device you’re now using to continue accessing your network, mark the box adjacent to it and hit the Allow button.
